WITH EUGENE DONNELLY'S VICTORY in the Circuit of Ireland Jimmy McRae can rest easy. He had said that if Derek McGarrity had made it four Circuit wins in a row he would have come back to contest the rally again. But with McGarrity adjudged to have been over the maximum lateness after a stage one clutch change his hopes of a record breaking fourth win on the trot were shot down. It must have been a particularly cruel blow as he was third overall at the time the decision was made on Saturday evening.
