THE WORLD OF MOTORSPORT WAS ROCKED last weekend by the double tragedy of the deaths of Richard Britton and Michael Park. Both men were regarded as being among the top in their fields as well as being immensely popular with fellow competitors and fans alike. Britton, as many in Ireland will know, was one of road racings great characters always there with a smile and a quip while Park who was possibly not as well known over here, but a houshold name in Estonia, was highly regarded in the UK. Colin McRae’s co-driver, Nicky Grist, being among those who have lost a friend. It will be of scant consolation to their family and friends that both men died doing what they loved best.
